Courtney Hackney, Hackneau Art & Orchids

Courtney talked about Moir's Weeds, aka Tolumnias, formerly known as Equitant Oncidiums. These twig epiphytes with colorful flowers have adapted to the Caribbean climate, where morning rains and dews wet them and trade winds dry them by nightfall.

March 5 - Growing Specimen Cattleyas

Bill, the Rhizome Cowboy, talked about how to grow a specimen cattleya. He focused on potting techniques to make sure there is plenty of aeration and draining, using only a thin layer of rot resistant potting materials.

January - A Tale of Two Cattleyas

Francisco Miranda talked about the dynamic duo, Cattleya walkeriana and Cattleya nobilior. These Brazilian cattleyas grow in dry habitats. Francisco had lots of pics showing how they grow in situ, to guide you in growing them.
